The present invention provides for a therapeutic aromatherapy spray composition suitable for administration to a surface. The therapeutic aromatherapy spray composition includes an effective amount of an essential oil portion capable of enhancing the mood of a human and a volatile liquid carrier that readily evaporates after dispersal onto the surface. The therapeutic aromatherapy spray is compatible with and suitable for topical use with human skin. The therapeutic aromatherapy spray composition is capable of being administered to a surface with an atomizer. Methods of preparing and administering the therapeutic aromatherapy spray compositions are also disclosed.
