In a second radiation image storage panel, a protective layer comprises a fundamental inorganic layer and at least one layer of a high-order inorganic layer, which is located on the fundamental inorganic layer, and each high-order inorganic layer is overlaid directly upon an inorganic layer, which is located under each high-order inorganic layer.
