The present invention relates to novel extracts of Salicornia species. The present invention particularly relates to novel extracts of Salicornia species which show antitubercular activity. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of novel extracts of Salicornia species with antitubercular activity and also to the use thereof for the treatment of tuberculosis.
