Therapeutic or preventive agents for ischemic nerve injury containing as the active ingredient compounds represented by the general formula [2]: wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 are each independently hydrogen, carboxy, or alkoxycarbonyl; and R.sup.2 and R.sup.5 are each independently hydrogen, hydroxy group, or acyloxy group.
