The invention is a cosmetic or dermatological formulation, comprising: (a) at least one oxidation- and/or UV-sensitive active ingredient; (b) at least one dialkyl naphthalate which is characterized by the structural formula ##STR00001## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, independently of one another, are chosen from the group of branched and unbranched alkyl groups having 6 to 24 carbon atoms; and (c) at least one lipid with a polarity of at most 30 mN/m. The present invention also includes method of using the cosmetic or dermatological formulations.
