The invention relates to a method for shifting an initial gear upwards into a target gear in a twin-clutch gearbox of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the engine torque (M.sub.Motor) of the vehicle is altered when a target gear is selected incorrectly and detected thus. The output torque (M.sub.Output) is then reduced if the correct target gear is introduced. The invention also relates to a twin-clutch gearbox, especially for carrying out said method.
