A color photographic material which contains on a support at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one yellow coupler, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one magenta coupler, at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one cyan coupler, together with customary non-light-sensitive layers, characterized in that at least one layer contains a compound of formula (I) or (II) wherein the R.sub.1-radicals and R.sub.2-radicals are preferably methyl; and wherein the compounds of formula (II) are preferably (III) R.sub.3 is a radical --CH(CH.sub.3)--X--D, wherein X is phenylene. D is a group (IV) or a group --C(O)--C.sub.1 C.sub.18alkyl or a group --O--CH.sub.2--CH(OH)--CH.sub.2--NR.sub.12R.sub.13, with R.sub.12 and R.sub.13 being C.sub.1 C.sub.18alkyl or together form a 4 to 8 membered ring as defined in claim 1, or D is a group --O--CH.sub.2--CH(OH)--CH.sub.2--N(R.sub.12)--CH.sub.2--CHOH--CH.sub.2--O- --or --O--CH.sub.2--CH(OH)--CH.sub.2--W--CH.sub.2--CHOH--CH.sub.2--O-- with W being a divalent amino group (--N(C.sub.1 C.sub.18alkyl)-), a polyamine residue, a polyethyleneimine residue or a polyoxyalkyleneamine residue; Z and Z' are for example C.sub.1 C.sub.12alkyl, C.sub.3 C.sub.12alkenyl, C.sub.3 C.sub.12alkenyl, C.sub.5 C.sub.8cycloalkyl, or Z and Z' together bivalent groups such as --CH.sub.2--CH.sub.2-- or --CH.sub.2--C(R.sub.18)(R.sub.19)--CH(R.sub.20)-- ##STR00001##
