Compounds of the formula (I): ##STR00001## wherein X is a --(C.dbd.CH.sub.2)-- group or a --CH(CH.sub.3)-- group, with the proviso that when X is a --(C.dbd.CH.sub.2)-- group, R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1-10 alkyl group or a C.sub.2-10 alkenyl group and when X is a --CH(CH.sub.3)-- group, R.sup.1 is hydrogen, a saturated or unsaturated, linear or a branched C.sub.1-10 alkyl group, a C.sub.1-10 acyl group, a C.sub.1-10 cycloalkyl group or an aryl group are useful as perfumes.
