A golf club head includes a casing with a front open end to which a striking plate is attached through a layer of brazing material that is formed between a rear surface of the striking plate and a frontmost end face of the casing. One of the striking plate and the front open end of the casing has an extension part which projects outward in a direction away from the opening. The extension part forms a shoulder with one of the first and second outer peripheral faces. During a brazing process, the brazing material is positioned against the shoulder externally of a clearance between the rear surface and the frontmost end face and is then melted to flow into the clearance through a capillary action.
