This invention relates to off-road tires, more specifically off-road tires
for use with all-terrain vehicles, agricultural equipment, and
construction equipment. A plurality of elongated pads are interposed
between circumferentially adjacent lugs, preventing damage to the tire's
inner tread without impeding the soil shedding characteristics of the
tire's soil discharge channels. The width of the puncture prevention pads
may vary to compensate for the greater spacing between circumferentially
adjacent lugs at the shoulder region of the tire.
