A pigment comprises a titanium oxide having a BET specific surface area of from about 3 m²/g to about 200 m²/g, and a D90 diameter corresponding to 90% of a particle size cumulative distribution on a weight basis of about 2.2 m or less. Also disclosed is a photocatalyst composition, a cosmetic, a cloth, an ultraviolet ray-shielding material and a silicone rubber, each containing a titanium oxide.
