A method for live-learning language skills comprises the steps of providing, in a live-learning environment, at least one visual display operative to display images correlated with corresponding sounds to a non-static user positioned in a line-of-sight from the display and enabling the user to view each image in close temporal proximity to hearing its corresponding sound. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the method provides a live-learning environment full of clues that help decode the images, thereby mimicking the natural language acquisition of humans.
