In general, the invention is directed to methods and devices for
monitoring one or more physiological parameters that reflect the activity
of the stomach of a patient, and generating an electrical stimulation
signal to induce symptoms of gastroparesis. The induced symptoms of
gastroparesis may reduce a patients desire to consume large portions of
food and thus provide an effective treatment for obesity.
