A hydrocarbon composition prepared by combining methane, ethane, isopentane,
normal
pentane, hexane and heptane at an appropriate compounding ratio contains 75% or
more by volume of propane, isobutane and normal butane, to have ignition temperature
of 800 C. and above. This composition is safe and economical in using as
a refrigerant for use in air conditioners and refrigerators or a detergent for
cleansing precision components such as semiconductor chips. The composition can
be used independently without being combined with a conventional refrigerant such
as CFC and HFC and does not destroy ozone, thus to contribute to the protection
of the environment.
