The present invention is directed to compositions and methods for treating inflammatory
diseases comprising administration of compositions that effect glycogen synthase
kinase 3 (GSK-3) protein or gene. The present invention also comprises
methods and compositions for the identification of compounds or therapeutic agents
which modulate the activity of the protein. The present invention provides compositions
for and methods off treatment of biological conditions including, but not limited
to, type I and type II diabetic induced vasculopathy, other vasculopathies, asthma
and inflammation-induced diseases such as atherosclerosis and cell proliferation.
