A microorganism mixture consisting of a first microorganism that secretes a substance
upon perception of an environmental factor and a second microorganism that expresses
a marker gene upon perception of the secreted substance is disclosed. The present
invention provides a means for measuring environmental factors, such as osmotic
pressure, simply and with high accuracy.
