A PDA holding unit and holding case therefor, for securing and holding in place
a personal digital assistant (PDA) device. The PDA holding unit includes a base
member having an upper surface for receiving and holding a PDA device and a lower
surface. The upper surface having a plurality of gripping elements thereon for
frictionally engaging the PDA device. The PDA holding unit also includes a first
gripping arm movably attached to a first side of the base member for engaging and
holding the PDA device in place on the base member; and a second gripping arm attached
to a second side of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in
place on the base member. The PDA holding unit further includes third and fourth
gripping arms attached to one end of the base member for engaging and holding the
PDA device in place on the base member. The holding case includes a base section
and a cover section which are foldable relative to each other to close the holding
case, wherein the lower surface of the base member is attached to the base section
via mounting fasteners for holding the base member in place within the holding case.
