A module for a modular conveyor belt, is described. The module is of a
sandwich layer construction having a core polymeric material completely
surrounded by a skin polymeric material. The skin material includes an
antimicrobial material for inhibiting bacterial growth on the module, and
the conveyor belt is particularly useful for conveying and transporting
foods including food processing and food handling applications.
