A modified gelatin obtained by reacting (A) a gelatin and (B) a compound
which contains a nitrogenous aromatic ring having a mercapto group to form
covalent bond with a reactive group in the gelatin, an introduction amount
of the compound in the gelatin being 1.0.times.10.sup.-6 mol to
2.0.times.10.sup.-3 mol per 100 g of the gelatin.
Une gélatine modifiée obtenue en réagissant (a) une gélatine et (b) un composé qui contient un anneau aromatique azoté ayant un groupe de mercapto pour former l'obligation covalente avec un groupe réactif dans la gélatine, une quantité d'introduction du composé dans la gélatine étant 1.0.times.10.sup.-6 mole à 2.0.times.10.sup.-3 mole par 100 g de la gélatine.
