An illumination apparatus that includes a housing, at least one light
source and a light-altering device. The light-altering device is
positioned relative to the housing and the light source for receiving and
altering light from the light source such that the altered light
illuminates at least one of a portion of the housing and a portion of a
surface supporting the illumination apparatus.
