A combination shoehorn, shoe counter clip and sock applier is disclosed
which comprises a generally U-shaped funnel portion having a pair of
elongated handles secured thereto and extending upwardly and outwardly
from opposite sides thereof. The counter clip is secured to the outer
rearward surface of the funnel portion with the upper end thereof
extending above the upper rearward end of the funnel portion to define a
sock support. The counter clip is secured to the funnel portion in such a
way so as to create a space therebetween at the lower end of the counter
clip and the funnel portion. When the device is used to assist in
placement of a shoe on the person's foot, the counter of the shoe is
positioned within the space between the counter clip and the funnel
portion so that the individual is able to maneuver the shoe as required
since the shoe is securely held in the space between the counter clip and
the funnel portion. The device may also be used to assist a person in
donning his or her socks. In such a case, the funnel portion and the
counter clip are inserted into the open upper end of a sock with a portion
of the sock being placed over the upper end of a counter clip to securely
attach the sock to the device. The device may then be maneuvered to pull
the sock upwardly onto the person's foot through the use of the elongated
handles.

Wanneer het apparaat om in plaatsing van een schoen op de voet van de persoon wordt gebruikt bij te wonen, wordt de teller van de schoen geplaatst binnen de ruimte tussen de tegenklem en het trechtergedeelte zodat het individu de schoen kan zoals gevraagd manoeuvreren aangezien de schoen veilig in de ruimte tussen de tegenklem en het trechtergedeelte wordt gehouden. Het apparaat kan ook worden gebruikt om een persoon bij het aantrekken van zijn of haar sokken te helpen. In een dergelijk geval, worden het trechtergedeelte en de tegenklem opgenomen in het open hogere eind van een sok met een gedeelte van de sok die over het hogere eind van een tegenklem wordt geplaatst de sok aan het apparaat veilig vast te maken. Het apparaat kan dan worden gemanoeuvreerd om de sok op de voet van de persoon door het gebruik van de verlengde handvatten naar omhoog te trekken.
