This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a
cellulose synthase. The invention also relates to the construction of a
chimeric gene encoding all or a portion of the cellulose synthase, in
sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene
results in production of altered levels of the cellulose synthase in a
transformed host cell.
Cette invention concerne un fragment d'isolement d'acide nucléique codant un synthase de cellulose. L'invention se relie également à la construction d'un gène chimérique codant tout l'ou une partie synthase de cellulose, dans le sens ou l'orientation d'antisense, où l'expression du gène chimérique a comme conséquence la production des niveaux changés du synthase de cellulose dans une cellule hôte transformée.
