A process for preparing acyloxybenzenesulfonates by reacting a carboxylic
acid derivative with a salt of a phenolsulfonic acid in the presence of an
antioxidant, preferably 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol. The addition of
such antioxidants gives a product having a high color quality.
