A fishing reel includes a reel body; a spool rotatably supported by the
reel body; a revolutions counter detector for detecting number of
revolutions of the spool; a line measurement device for measuring line
length based on the result detected by the revolutions counter detector;
an informing device for informing an angler about fishing information; a
receiver for receiving a signal which includes the fishing information and
is transmitted from a transmitter; and a controller for controlling the
informing device to inform the angler about the fishing information from
the receiver.
