The invention relates to a method for the transmission of multimedia
messages in a communication system from a transmitting terminal (MS1) to a
receiving terminal (RH, MS2). The communication system comprises at least
a first communication network (NW1), a second communication network (NW2)
and a multimedia message switching centre (MMSC). In the first
communication network (NW1), at least a first address type is used as the
terminal address, and in the second communication network (NW2), at least
a second address type is used as the terminal address. In the method, the
address of the receiving terminal (RH, MS2) is annexed to said multimedia
message. The multimedia message is further supplemented with data on the
type of said address, wherein the multimedia message is transmitted from
the transmitting terminal (MS1) to said multimedia message switching
centre (MMSC), in which the type of the address of the receiving terminal
(RH, MS2) is examined, and said address type is used to select the
communication network (NW1, NW2) to be used in the transmission of the
message from the multimedia message switching centre (MMSC) to the
receiving terminal (RH, MS2).
L'invenzione riguarda un metodo per la trasmissione dei messaggi di multimedia in un sistema di comunicazione da un terminale trasmettente (MS1) ad un terminale ricevente (RH, MS2). Il sistema di comunicazione contiene almeno una prima rete di comunicazione (NW1), una seconda rete di comunicazione (NW2) e un centro di commutazione di messaggi di multimedia (MMSC). Nella prima rete di comunicazione (NW1), almeno un primo tipo di indirizzo è usato come l'indirizzo terminale e nella seconda rete di comunicazione (NW2), almeno un secondo tipo di indirizzo è usato come l'indirizzo terminale. Nel metodo, l'indirizzo del terminale ricevente (RH, MS2) è annesso al messaggio detto di multimedia. Il messaggio di multimedia più ulteriormente è completato con i dati sul tipo di indirizzo detto, in cui il messaggio di multimedia è trasmesso dal terminale trasmettente (MS1) al centro di commutazione di messaggi detto di multimedia (MMSC), in cui il tipo dell'indirizzo del terminale ricevente (RH, MS2) è esaminato ed il detto tipo di indirizzo è usato per selezionare la rete di comunicazione (NW1, NW2) per essere usato nella trasmissione del messaggio dal centro di commutazione di messaggi di multimedia (MMSC) al terminale ricevente (RH, MS2).
