Polarizer and method of producing the same

   
   

An iodine-PVA polarizing element 30 .mu.m thick is dried by heating at 50.degree. C. for 30 minutes to thereby obtain a polarizing element having a moisture content of 4.9% by weight. A pair of 100 .mu.m-thick norbornene resin films (tradename "ARTON" made by JSR Corporation) used as protective films are stuck to opposite surfaces of the obtained polarizing element through layers of PVA adhesive agents which are applied on the pair of nonbornene resin films respectively and dried, to form, a polarizer.

Um mu.m polarizando do elemento 30 do iodo-PVA é secado densamente aquecendo-se em 50.degree. C. por 30 minutos para obter desse modo um elemento polarizando que tem um índice de umidade de 4.9% pelo peso. Um par de 100 películas mu.m-grossas da resina do norbornene (tradename "ARTON" feito por JSR Corporation) usadas enquanto as películas protetoras são furadas às superfícies opostas do elemento polarizando obtido com as camadas de agentes adesivos de PVA que estão aplicados no par da resina do nonbornene filma respectivamente e secado, para dar forma, um polarizer.
