A candle, lantern, or the like, having one or more light pipes. Reception
faces of the light pipes gather light from the flame arena, and emission
faces of the light pipes emit the gathered light at another location. The
other location may be an exterior surface of the candle, or a decorative
fixture. Multiple sets of light pipes may come into play at various times
during the life of the candle. The reception faces may move as the candle
burns, to stay in the flame arena.
