A display is generated for viewing on a display screen. The display
indicates any or any combination of a function of the display screen
control parameters and/or information relating to channels and/or
programmes which can be viewed on the screen. The display further
comprises one or more geometrical shapes, each split into a plurality of
segments and the segments represent particular time intervals,
programme/channel information, control parameter information or the like.
