Method for preparing fluorinated ketones

   
   

A subject of the present invention is a process for preparation of fluorinated ketones corresponding to general formula (I) R.sub.1 --CO--R.sub.2 in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined in claim 1, characterized in that it consists of reacting two carboxylic acids of Formula (II), R.sub.1 --COOH and Formula (III), R.sub.2 --COOH, in the gaseous phase and in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one oxide of an element chosen from the rare earths, thorium, titanium and aluminum.
