The invention describes a cable, in particular for electric energy
transportation or distribution, in which an electrically insulating layer
is present, consisting of a material substantially free of lead or
derivatives thereof, and having high resistance to water. This material
includes an elastomer terpolymer having the following composition:
a) 50-90 moles percent of ethylene;
b) 10-50 moles percent of an .alpha.-olefin;
c) 0.16-5 moles percent of 5-vinyl-2-norbornene;
the sum of the moles percent of a), b), c) being 100, said terpolymer
having a branching index of less than or equal to 0.5 and a molecular
weight distribution index M.sub.w /M.sub.n of greater than or equal to 6.
Die Erfindung beschreibt ein Kabel, insbesondere für elektrischen Energietransport oder -verteilung, in denen eine elektrisch Isolierschicht anwesend ist, besteht aus einem Material, das von der Leitung oder von den Ableitungen davon im wesentlichen frei ist, und hat hohen Widerstand zum Wasser. Dieses Material schließt ein Elastomerterpolymer mit ein, das den folgenden Aufbau hat: A) 50-90 Moleprozent Äthylen; B) 10-50 Moleprozent eines Alpha.olefins; c) 0.16-5 Moleprozent 5-vinyl-2-norbornene; die Summe der Moleprozente A), B), c) seiend 100, besagtes Terpolymer einen ausbreitenen Index von kleiner als oder Gleichgestelltes bis 0.5 und ein Molekulargewichtverteilung Index M.sub.w /M.sub.n von grösserem als oder Gleichgestelltes bis 6 habend.
