For estimating a property of use, for example the activity of a catalyst or
the ability to hold a ratio-element in a solid mineral matrix, or a
material M.sub.AB whose active element is AB, there are used a descriptor
D.sub.AB of the chemical bond between A and B, which has the dimension of
an energy, and index R.sub.AB that measures the property of use of said
material. The invention also relates to a process for determining the
chemical affinity of an element or a set of elements B for a matrix A with
a descripor D.sub.AB. The process according to the invention
advantageously can be used for the design of new materials whose use
produces the formation or the modification of at least one chemical bond
or makes it necessary to prevent the formation of said bond.
Per la valutazione della proprietà di uso, per esempio l'attività di un catalizzatore o la capacità di tenere un rapporto-elemento in una tabella minerale solida, o un materiale M.sub.AB di cui l'elemento attivo è ab, là è usato un descrittore D.sub.AB del legame chimico fra A e B, che ha la dimensione di un'energia ed indice R.sub.AB che misura la proprietà di uso di materiale detto. L'invenzione inoltre si riferisce ad un procedimento per la determinazione l'affinità chimica di un elemento o dell'insieme degli elementi B per una tabella A con un descripor D.sub.AB. Il processo secondo l'invenzione può essere usato vantaggiosamente per il disegno di nuovi materiali di cui l'uso produce la formazione o la modifica almeno di un legame chimico o la rende necessaria impedire la formazione del legame detto.
