The phosphorus-containing compound of the present invention is represented
by the following formula (I), (II) or (III):

wherein Z.sup.1, Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 each represents a cycloalkane, a
cycloalkene, a polycyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon
rings which may have a substituent; R represents a halogen atom, a
hydroxyl, a carboxyl, a halocarboxyl(haloformyl), an alkyl, an alkoxy, an
alkenyl or an aryl groups; A represents a polyvalent group corresponding
to an alkane; Y.sup.1, Y.sup.2 and Y.sup.3 each represents --O--, --S-- or
--NR.sup.1 --, wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl
group; k is an integer of 1 to 6; m is an integer of 0 to 2; n is an
integer of not less than 1; q is an integer of 0 to 5; r is 0 or 1; and S
is an integer of 1 to 4.
The phosphorus-containing compound is excellent in heat resistance and is
useful as flame retardants, plasticizers, or stabilizers.
Das phosphorhaltige Mittel der anwesenden Erfindung wird durch die folgende Formel (i), (ii) oder (iii) dargestellt: ## STR1 ## worin Z.sup.1, Z.sup.2 und Z.sup.3 jedes ein cycloalkane, ein cycloalkene, einen polyzyklischen aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoff oder Ringe eines aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffs darstellt, die einen Substituenten haben können; R stellt ein Halogenatom, ein Hydroxyl, ein Karboxyl-, ein halocarboxyl(haloformyl), ein Alkyl, alkoxy, ein Alkenyl oder ein Aryl- Gruppen dar; A stellt eine vielwertige Gruppe dar, die einem Alkan entspricht; Y.sup.1, Y.sup.2 und Y.sup.3 jedes stellt --O --. --S -- dar oder -- NR.sup.1 --., worin R.sup.1 ein Wasserstoffatom oder eine Alkylgruppe darstellt; k ist eine Ganzzahl von 1 bis 6; m ist eine Ganzzahl von 0 bis 2; n ist eine Ganzzahl von nicht weniger als 1; q ist eine Ganzzahl von 0 bis 5; r ist 0 oder 1; und S ist eine Ganzzahl von 1 bis 4. Das phosphorhaltige Mittel ist in der Hitzebeständigkeit ausgezeichnet und ist als Flammerückhalter, -plastifiziermittel oder -ausgleicher nützlich.
