A power toothbrush has an elongated body defining a handle and containing a
power source, a stepper motor and an electronic controller; an elongated
housing having bristles at the end thereof, and structure for operatively
connecting the output shaft of the stepper motor to the housing. The
stepper motor provides rotary oscillating motion which is transmitted to
the housing which carries the bristles.
