A crash optimized bracket for removably affixing a propeller shaft to a
motor vehicle. The bracket includes an elongated member having a plurality
of weakened slots to allow the bracket and the propeller shaft to tear
from the vehicle upon impact in a controlled and predictable manner in
response to predetermined loads.
