A process for the preparation of mixed ethoxylated alkyl phenol/alkyl
phenol ethoxy sulfate surfactants, such surfactants, and detergent
formulations incorporating the same. The mixed surfactants are more
tolerant of sodium carbonate, allowing greater amounts of sodium carbonate
to be used so that the amount of surfactant can be reduced resulting in
overall cost savings in the resultant laundry product.
