A coal formation may be treated using an in situ thermal process.
Hydrocarbons, H.sub.2, and/or other formation fluids may be produced from
the formation. Heat may be applied to the formation to raise a temperature
of a portion of the formation to a pyrolysis temperature. After production
of the mixture is ended, the portion may be cooled to produce a spent
portion of the formation.
Een steenkoolvorming kan worden behandeld gebruikend een thermisch proces in situ. De koolwaterstoffen, H.sub.2, en/of andere vormingsvloeistoffen kunnen uit de vorming worden geproduceerd. De hitte kan op de vorming worden toegepast om een temperatuur van een gedeelte van de vorming aan een pyrolysetemperatuur op te heffen. Nadat de productie van het mengsel wordt beëindigd, kan het gedeelte worden gekoeld om een besteed gedeelte van de vorming te veroorzaken.
