The invention is directed to a process for purifying double-stranded DNA,
comprising using ceramic hydroxyapatite column chromatography. The
invention is also directed to a purified recombinant plasmid DNA
composition, comprising a chromosomal DNA content that is less than or
equal to 0.01% as well as to a composition comprising DNA prepared by the
foregoing process.
