A thermal transfer recording sheet having a high resistance to denting due
to the nipping pressure and/or thermal printing pressure has a substrate
sheet including a core sheet and polyester films laminated on the two
surfaces of the core sheet and an image receiving layer formed on a
surface of the substrate sheet and containing a dyeable polymeric
material, and exhibits a compression modulus of 50 MPa or less.
