Disclosed is a dispersant obtainable by reacting (i) a di- or polyfunctional isocyanate with (ii) an HX-terminated polymeric compound, where X is COO, O, S or NR.sup.1 and R.sup.1 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl; and either (iii) an HY-terminated homopolymer of a monomer selected from the group consisting of N-vinylamides, N-vinyllactams and vinyl- or allyl-substituted nitrogenous heterocycles or copolymer of one or more of the monomers mentioned and optionally further monomers, where Y is COO, O, S or NR.sup.2 and R.sup.2 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl; or (iv) an HY-functional organic phosphonic ester, where Y is as defined above. The dispersant is especially useful for dispersing pigments and for preparing inkjet inks.

Se divulga un dispersor obtenible reaccionando (i) un di- o el isocianato del polyfunctional con (ii) un compuesto polimérico HX-terminado, donde está COO X, O, S o NR.sup.1 y R.sup.1 es H o C.sub.1 - C.sub.6 - alkyl; y cualquier (iii) un homopolímero HY-terminado de un monomer seleccionado del grupo que consiste en N-vinylamides, N-vinyllactams y vinilo o los heterocycles o copolímero nitrogenados ali'lico-substituidos de uno o más de los monomers mencionados y opcionalmente más lejos los monomers, donde está COO Y, O, S o NR.sup.2 y R.sup.2 es H o C.sub.1 - C.sub.6 - alkyl; o (iv) un éster phosphonic orgánico HY-funcional, donde está Y según lo definido arriba.
