A kit and a method for making a porous cement which self sets to hydroxyapatite and has an interconnected porosity is produced by mixing a calcium source and a phosphate source with a carbonate source and mixing this powdered component with a liquid component having an acid component. The liquid component comprises water or an aqueous solution containing an acid. The acid and the carbonate react to form carbon dioxide thereby producing an interconnected porosity in the normally solid self-hardening bone cement. The method requires only a relatively low weight percent of the acid and base to be mixed with the liquid and powder cement components.

Un corredo e un metodo per fare un cemento poroso che l'auto regola a hydroxyapatite ed ha una porosità collegata è prodotto mescolando una fonte del calcio e una fonte del fosfato con una fonte del carbonato e mescolando questo componente in polvere con un componente liquido che ha un componente acido. Il componente liquido contiene l'acqua o una soluzione acquosa che contiene un acido. L'acido ed il carbonato reagiscono all'anidride carbonica della forma quindi che produce una porosità collegata nel cemento ortopedico d'indurimento normalmente solido. Il metodo richiede soltanto un percento relativamente basso del peso dell'acido e della base da mescolare con i componenti del cemento della polvere e del liquido.
