Method of production of transgenic plants wholly transformed into T.sub.o generation. The method consists of a) genetically transforming a meristem explant; b) selective culturing for the specific development, among all the transformed cells, of those cells giving rise to secondary meristems and/or those cells capable of resulting in neoformed foliar meristems, c) regenerating, from the cellular material obtained during step b), transgenic plants.

Metodo di produzione delle piante transgenic trasformate interamente nella generazione di T.sub.o. Il metodo consiste di a) geneticamente trasformando un meristema explant; b) la coltura selettiva per lo sviluppo specifico, fra tutte le cellule trasformate, di quelle cellule che provocano i meristems secondari e/o di quelle cellule capaci di con conseguente neoformed i meristems fogliari, c) rigenerando, dal materiale cellulare ottenuto durante il punto b), piante transgenic.
