The invention concerns novel polymerisable compositions and optical lenses
with high refractive index obtained from said compositions, characterized
in that they comprise as constituents base copolymerisable monomers at
least 85 wt. % of the total weight of copolymerisable monomers present in
the composition: of a mixture M, for 100 parts by weight of the mixture;
of (A) 20 to 80 parts of one or several, preferably only one, non-aromatic
compounds (I) comprising two thio(meth)acrylate functions, and (B) 80 to
20 parts of a compound of formula (I) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2
represent, independently of each other, H or CH.sub.3 and m+n has a mean
value from 0 to 20 inclusively; and 3 to 30% by weight relative to the
weight of mixture M of a polythiol; the composition containing less than 5
wt. % of other aromatic thio(meth)acrylate copolymerisable, cyclanic or
vinyl aromatic mono(meth)acrylate monomers. The invention is applicable to
the manufacture of spectacle lenses.

De uitvinding betreft nieuwe polymerisable samenstellingen en optische lenzen met hoge r i die uit bovengenoemde gekenmerkte samenstellingen wordt verkregen, waarin zij bestaan uit aangezien de constituenten copolymerisable monomeren minstens 85 % gew. van het totale gewicht copolymerisable monomeren huidig in de samenstelling baseren: van een mengsel M, voor 100 delen bij het gewicht van het mengsel; van (A) 20 tot 80 delen van één of verscheidene, hebben bij voorkeur slechts één, non-aromatic samenstellingen (I) die uit twee thio(meth)acrylatefuncties, en (B) 80 tot 20 delen van een samenstelling van formule (I) bestaan waarin R.sub.1 en R.sub.2, onafhankelijk van elkaar, H of CH.sub.3 en m+n vertegenwoordigen een gemiddelde waarde inclusief van 0 tot 20; en 3 tot 30% in gewicht met betrekking tot het gewicht van mengsel M van een polythiol; de samenstelling die minder bevatten dan 5 % gew. andere aromatische monomeren van thio(meth)acrylate copolymerisable, cyclanic of vinyl aromatische mono(meth)acrylate. De uitvinding is van toepassing op de vervaardiging van schouwspellenzen. ## STR1 ##
