Process for the production of at least one compound that is selected from among monoalkyl aromatic compounds, dialkyl aromatic compounds and trialkyl aromatic compounds by alkylation or transalkylation of an aromatic compound by at least one alkylating agent that is selected from among the olefins, whereby the process is characterized in that it is carried out in one or two stages, involving two reaction zones in series, whereby one of these two zones can be switched off so as to be able, depending on whether or not one of the zones is switched off, to meet the demand either of the three types of mono, di- and trialkyl aromatic compounds, or two of these types or a single one of the types of mono- or di- or trialkyl aromatic compounds.

Geschaltet wird weg von, Prozeß für die Produktion von mindestens einem Mittel, das unter monoalkyl von den aromatischen Mitteln, von den Dialkyl- aromatischen Mitteln und trialkyl von den aromatischen Mitteln von der Alkylierung oder vom transalkylation eines aromatischen Mittels von mindestens einem alkylierenden vorgewählt wird Vertreter, das unter von den vorgewählt wird Olefinen, hingegen der Prozeß gekennzeichnet wird dadurch, daß er in ein oder zwei Stadien durchgeführt wird und zwei Reaktion Zonen in Reihen mit einbezieht, hingegen eine dieser zwei Zonen ausgeschaltet werden kann, damit sein, abhängig von, ob oder nicht eine der Zonen, die Nachfrage befriedigen irgendeine der drei Arten der Mono-, Di- und trialkyl aromatischen Mittel oder zwei von diesen Arten oder von einem einzelnen der Arten der Mono- oder Di- oder trialkyl aromatischen Mittel.
