A copolymer of ethylene and a higher alpha-olefin having broadened melt processing windows and reduced melt fracture can be produced using a chromium-containing catalyst system and a trialkyl boron cocatalyst. The polymerization process must be carefully controlled to produce a copolymer resin that easily can be made into articles of manufacture.

Ein Copolymer des Äthylens und des höheren Alphaolefins, welches die Schmelze verarbeiten Fenster und verringerten Schmelzbruch erweitert wird, kann mit einem Chrom-enthaltenen Katalysatorsystem und einem trialkyl Bor cocatalyst produziert werden. Der Polymerisierungprozeß muß sorgfältig gesteuert werden, um ein Copolymerharz zu produzieren, das in Artikel der Herstellung leicht gebildet werden kann.
