A dyestuff capable of undergoing a clearly visible colour change when contacted with a color-developing material is dispersed in the body of a plastics film and used in the identification of goods. The film can be used for packaging of the goods or as a label or seal affixed to the goods. When testing the authenticity of packaging goods, the plastics film is marked with the color-developing chemical to produce a colored mark on the package. The dyestuff is preferably a latent dyestuff which is colorless and invisible to the eye under ambient conditions for use of the film but which forms a clearly visible color when contacted with the color-developing material.

Een verfstof geschikt om een duidelijk zichtbare kleurenverandering te ondergaan wanneer gecontacteerd met een kleur-zichontwikkelend materiaal is verspreid en gebruikt in het lichaam van een plastiekenfilm in de identificatie van goederen. De film kan voor verpakking van de goederen of als etiket of verbinding worden gebruikt die aan de goederen wordt gehecht. Wanneer het testen van de authenticiteit van de verpakking van goederen, is de plastiekenfilm duidelijk met het kleur-zichontwikkelend chemische product om een gekleurd teken op het pakket te veroorzaken. De verfstof is bij voorkeur een latente verfstof die aan het oog in de omringende omstandigheden voor gebruik van de film kleurloos en onzichtbaar is maar die een duidelijk zichtbare kleur wanneer gecontacteerd met het kleur-zichontwikkelend materiaal vormt.
