The invention is directed towards a chemical demulsifier formulation comprising an alkyl aromatic sulfonic acid additive with at least 16 carbon atom alkyl group and at least two 6 carbon-ring aromatic group and a co-additive selected from the group consisting of dipropylene monobutyl ether, aromatic naphtha, isoparaffinic solvent, cycloparaffinic solvent, aromatic solvent, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, benzyl alcohol and mixtures thereof and a process for demulsification and desalting crude oil using the demulsifier formulation.

De uitvinding wordt geleid naar een chemische meer demulsifier formulering bestaand uit een alkyl aromatisch sulfonzuuradditief met alkyl groep van het minstens 16 koolstofatoom en minstens twee 6 koolstof-ring aromatische groep en uit een mede-additief dat uit de groep wordt geselecteerd die uit de ether van dipropylenemonobutyl, aromatische nafta, isoparaffinic oplosbaar, cycloparaffinic oplosbaar, aromatisch oplosmiddel, monobutylether van de diëthyleenglycol, benzyl alcohol en mengsels daarvan en een proces voor demulsification en ontziltings ruwe olie bestaat gebruikend de meer demulsifier formulering.
