Luminescent polymers are prepared from thermosetting unsaturated
polyesters, suspending fillers and phosphorescent pigments and utilized to
make gel coated articles and molded, cast and fiberglass reinforced
plastic (FRP) articles. The luminescent polymers show bright and
long-lasting photoluminescent afterglow, strong thermostimulation of
afterglow by heat and electroluminescent properties. The preferred
thermosetting unsaturated polyester resins are prepared by condensing
mixtures of ethylenically unsaturated and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and
anhydrides with dihydric alcohols and a polymerizable vinylidene monomer.
Preferred suspending fillers and thixotropic modifiers include silica,
microspheres, glass fibers and other short fibers, nepheline syenite,
feldspar, mica, pumice, magnesium sulfate, calcium carbonate, bentonite
and the various clays and thixotropic modifiers and mixtures thereof.
Preferred phosphorescent pigments include alkaline earth aluminate
phosphors, zinc sulfide phosphors and mixtures of these phosphors.
De lichtende polymeren worden voorbereid van thermosetting onverzadigde polyesters, opschortend vullers en fosforescerend pigment en gebruikt om gel met een laag bedekte artikelen te maken en gevormd, gegoten en glasvezel plastic de artikelen (van FRP) versterkt. De lichtende polymeren tonen heldere en langdurige photoluminescent nagloeiing, sterke thermostimulation van nagloeiing door hitte en electroluminescent eigenschappen. De aangewezen thermosetting onverzadigde polyesterharsen worden voorbereid door mengsels van wat ethyleen betreft onverzadigde en aromatische dicarboxylic zuren en anhydriden met dihydric alcoholen en een polymerizable vinylidene monomeer te condenseren. De voorkeur gehad opschortend vullers en thixotropic bepalingen omvat daarvan kiezelzuur, microsferen, glasvezels en andere korte vezels, nepheline syeniet, veldspaat, mica, puim, magnesiumsulfaat, calciumcarbonaat, bentoniet en de diverse klei en thixotropic bepalingen en de mengsels. Het aangewezen fosforescerende pigment omvat de fosfoor van het alkalische aardealuminaat, de fosfoor van het zinksulfide en mengsels van deze fosfoor.
