This invention provides compounds of Formula I having the structure ##STR1## wherein: A, X, Y, Z, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, and R.sub.6 are as defined hereinbefore or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which are useful in treating or inhibiting metabolic disorders related to insulin resistance or hyperglycemia (typically associated with obesity or glucose intolerance), atherosclerosis, gastrointestinal disorders, neurogenetic inflammation, and frequent urination; and are particularly useful in the treatment or inhibition of type II diabetes.

Deze uitvinding verstrekt samenstellingen van Formule I die de structuur ## STR1 ## heeft waarin: A, X, Y, Z, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, en R.sub.6 zijn zoals daarvan hierboven bepaald of een farmaceutisch aanvaardbaar zout, die in het behandelen van of het remmen van metabolische wanorde met betrekking tot insulineweerstand of hyperglycemia (typisch verbonden aan zwaarlijvigheid of glucoseonverdraagzaamheid), atherosclerose, gastro-intestinale wanorde, neurogenetic ontsteking, en frequente urination nuttig zijn; en zijn bijzonder nuttig in de behandeling of de remming van type II diabetes.
