A method for determining a response to a biologically active agent in ovariectomized lower test mammals is described. The mammals are divided into those which have an early time post ovariectomy and those which have a late time post ovariectomy and then each group is tested simultaneously with the agent. The method is used to simulate menopause in humans for the purpose of determining a positive or negative response and a possible treatment.

Une méthode pour déterminer une réponse à un agent biologiquement actif dans les mammifères inférieurs ovariectomisés d'essai est décrite. Les mammifères sont divisés en ceux qui ont un ovariectomy tôt de poteau de temps et ceux qui ont un ovariectomy en retard de poteau de temps et puis chaque groupe est examinés simultanément avec l'agent. La méthode est employée pour simuler la ménopause chez l'homme afin de déterminer une réponse positive ou négative et un traitement possible.
