A method of automatic testing of systems, such as DWDM systems with an OSA, has manufacturer's specifications loaded into the test equipment for a plurality of systems. A user selects one of the systems from a menu, and the test equipment from the manufacturer's specification for the selected system automatically acquires data and makes measurements on the data. The results of the data are summarized in a report which indicates an overall system status, indicating where and why the system failed if any of the measurements indicates the system is out of the manufacturer's specifications. The measurements are kept so that they may be used to determine drift when the system is tested the next time.

Un metodo di prova automatica dei sistemi, quali i sistemi di DWDM con un OSA, ha specifiche del fornitore caricate nell'apparecchiatura di prova per una pluralità di sistemi. Un utente seleziona uno dei sistemi a partire da un menu e l'apparecchiatura di prova dalla specifica del fornitore per il sistema selezionato acquista automaticamente i dati ed effettua le misure sui dati. I risultati dei dati sono ricapitolati in un rapporto che indica una condizione di sistema generale, indicando dove e perchè il sistema venuto a mancare se c'è ne delle misure indica il sistema è dalle specifiche del fornitore. Le misure sono mantenute in moda da poterle usare per determinare la direzione quando il sistema sarà esaminato la prossima volta.
